    This four lesson unit of work focuses on similarity in geometry. Students define similarity of shapes in terms of dilations; determine if shapes are similar by using dilations and isomorphic transformations, check if corresponding angles are congruent and the ratios of corresponding side lengths are the same; define similarity tests for triangles and use them to determine if a pair of triangles are similar; use similarity to determine unknown lengths and angles; design, test, and describe algorithms that identify the similarity of shapes.
