Area and perimeter video Image

Area and perimeter video

This video demonstrates area and perimeter so students have a common understanding of both concepts; this will help to answer the questions: What is area? What is perimeter? Simple problems are presented to engage the audience to think and model ways to create an area shape with different dimensions. The representation will show how the number of squares remains the same as the dimensions change. We can also show how area changes as dimensions change. As we go through examples highlight the perimeter. A table of results can show the different dimensions and begin to connect to area formula. Start with square units and towards the end introduce cm2 and m2.
