Things to think about

  1. 1.Think of a bird or animal and imagine that you have to use words and pictures to describe it. What words would you choose? What pictures would you choose?
  2. 2.Think about the words of the song and images in the clip. How does it show and describe what a black swan looks like? Where does it live? How does it move around?
  3. 3.What did you learn about black swans? Did you get this information from the lyrics (words) of the song, or the images? What if you had only the lyrics or only the images? Would you have learned as much as you did? Why?
  4. 4.Research and find out about another Australian bird. Use words and pictures to show and tell others what you have found. Think about what kinds of words and pictures will best describe the bird. Does it work best to describe the bird in pictures, words, or both?
