Students explore the latest STEM careers – the science and the scientists – through videos, research and discussion.

The STEM Careers Packs aim to make students aware of the wide variety of STEM careers. They help students understand the importance of scientific knowledge, how science influences society, and how society influences science (i.e. Science as a Human Endeavour).

During their explorations, students will appreciate how the different areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics interact and are interdependent, whilst developing STEM literacies and competencies.

STEM Pack 2: Bringing Military Science to Life explores the ethics behind Science and Engineering topics, using careers and situations presented in military life to make relevant abstract concepts.

Students explore the wide range of roles that are related to the Armed Forces – not just front line duties but the plethora of supporting careers as well – and how science and engineering are involved in those jobs.

This pack focuses on the Physical Sciences (Year 7 (ACSSU117) Year 8 (ACSSU155) Year 9 (ACSSU182)) area of the Science Understanding strand of the National Curriculum, and all tasks are mapped to Science as a Human Endeavour as well as the core capabilities.
