School of Rocks: Teacher Resource

Rocks and minerals have been used by humans and our ancestors for millennia. Within this resource, students:

  • Explore the formation of rocks and minerals.
  • Investigate how the properties of rocks and minerals are related to their use, and how these naturally occurring materials provide valuable resources for human activity.
  • Investigate the effects of volcanic activity, using a real-world example to model pyroclastic flows.

This resource contains teacher notes, student activities and curriculum links.
