Driven by the need to improve students' reading skills and levels, Mayfield East Public School in NSW set out on a professional-learning program, supported by a facilitator experienced in the theory and practice of Accelerated Literacy. The whole school community was involved in the introduction of the strategy.
Data collected since the strategy was implemented indicates substantial improvements in reading levels and skills, especially for the cohort of boys.
