That's a RAP! Using Reading Adventure Packs to improve students' involvement in and attitude to reading at home

Abstract

A school–home literacy partnership was established to involve family members in supporting children's involvement in – and attitude towards – reading. The texts and activities in each Reading Adventure Pack centre around a common theme, explored by the child in relationship with a parent, grandparent, sibling or carer.
