Students with persistent difficulties led to whole-school change in teaching maths at Carey Baptist College, Perth, a metropolitan coeducational college catering for K–12 students. A one-to-one Numeracy Tutorial Program was developed and implemented with F–6 students at the school. This addressed individual student needs, raised teacher understanding of specific maths concepts and how best to teach them, and provided ongoing support for and development of teachers' professional learning.
