CEOWA Early Literacy Intervention

Abstract

The Catholic Education Office of WA (CEOWA) Early Literacy Intervention provided intensive, daily individual reading and writing intervention. This strategy rapidly developed students' reading and writing skills and gave them classroom independence.

This internationally proven, high-quality literacy intervention deliberately built on students' individual strengths, and maintained high expectations for student success. Highly trained intervention teachers monitored learning through detailed daily observations, and planned accordingly to support the development of essential reading and writing skills.
