Literacy and Numeracy Pilot in low SES school communities

Abstract

The Literacy and Numeracy Pilot was implemented in low socioeconomic status school communities in 2009 and 2010. It focused on five areas of reform: leadership capacity to adopt whole-school approaches and to work effectively across school clusters; teacher capacity to improve practice in teaching literacy and numeracy; data-driven approaches to targeted learning; student-centred approaches; and community engagement.
