Ear protector for rugby union, c1930s

This is a padded, brown-leather ear protector, lined with calico, made for use in rugby union. It was tied under the chin with double brown tapes. It was made in about the 1930s at the Simpson's Gloves factory and is part of the Simpson's Gloves Collection at Museum Victoria. The protector is 28.0 cm long x 58.0 cm high.
