Interoception (mindful body awareness) refers to the perception, recognition and understanding of the internal physical states. These body signals can be understood as emotions and/or feelings which can then be responded to. Self-regulation is the ability to moderate or control emotions and actions in order to function effectively and get along with others. In the classroom, self-regulation supports students to engage in learning activities, participate in social interactions and minimise disruptive behaviour. This resource provides 39 activities to help students develop their these skills in video and illustrative formats. The activities are supported by a educator resource that provides information and research on interoception and Autism, as well as practical advice for classroom application. A information sheet for families and caregivers is also provided.
