Text Changes over time: Family life, technology, significant local sites

TLF ID A005093

This webpage hosts several learning sequences that include student workbooks and a variety of tasks building historical concepts and skills. The first sequence provides opportunities for students to explore differences in family structures and roles today, and how these have changed or remained the same over time. The second sequence includes 2 short inquiries: changing technology in the home and community and the impacts of changing technology. Another sequence explores the local symbols of remembrance including the war memorial as a significant local historical site. Through these activities, students draw on their own investigations, those of other community members, as well as other sources. A variety of assessment strategies and tools are used throughout the present and past family life learning sequence.
