Text Teaching and learning about pornography in Health education

TLF ID A006160

This resource provides insights into the use of pornography by young people with the aim of enabling teachers to identify the extent to which they might teach about this topic within the remit of Health education. The resource provides some ideas for ways to inform parents about what students will be learning about pornography, and an item bank of scenarios to use as part of sexuality education and mental health and wellbeing activities. It also contains a workshop outline that can be used with teachers to facilitate a discussion about how the school might approach this topic. The resource is designed for use in New Zealand schools so some information (the research data and legislative information) is not entirely relevant to the Australian context. However, most of the activities in this resource are appropriate to Respectful Relationships education in Australian jurisdictions.
