Use and recognise simple words describing colour, size, shape and cultural images. Choose simple words to complete instructions for making a kite. Build another kite by following instructions given by a Japanese friend. Fly your kites in a range of places in Japan. Adjust compass directions, wind speed and flying height. This learning object is one in a series of three objects.

  • Students learn language around “I want…” and interpret language via tone and gestures.
  • Students recognise and apply Japanese words and phrases associated with shape, size, colour, symbols and kite parts.

  • Provides an option to print a kite-flying scene in Japan, including a kite built and positioned by the student.
