The biographical profiles are especially valuable in year 5 for understanding the economic, political and social reasons for the establishment of British colonies in Australia after 1800 and why people migrated to Australia.
  • The profiles and the links to journals are a valuable mix of primary and secondary sources that enable year 9 students to explore the experiences of free settlers departing for South Australia in 1836, their journeys and their reactions on arrival, as part of the elective depth study, 'Movement of peoples (1750-1901)'.
