This is an interactive game about an archaeological dig or quest. The object is to find an ancient burial site and protect it from being destroyed by local quarry owners who want to extract chalk from the field. Students are given an amount of money and have to locate where the burial site is using a variety of research methods. Each method has a cost and students have to discover the site and reveal its contents before their money is spent.

Educational value
  • This interactive game is useful for the Australian Curriculum: History content description in Year 8 referring to the practice of historical skills. Students identify questions to ask about the past and locate relevant sources in preparation for a historical inquiry into the location of an ancient burial site.
  • The resource is valuable for the study of the importance of evidence in historical inquiry. Students select and analyse information from a county record office, an old map and an aerial photograph in order to identify the position of an ancient burial site.
