Real Chinese - Mini-guides - Pinyin

• This is a valuable resource for students in the Years 7-8 bands who are just beginning their study of Chinese following the Second Language Learners' Pathway curriculum. It is particularly useful for learning correct pronunciation of Pinyin in Chinese and is suitable for content descriptions that refer to the systems of language. The linked tone game gives students an opportunity to practise their listening skills and interpret meaning from words they listen to. The character game is useful for seeing characters with the correct corresponding Pinyin and practising the formation of characters through stroke order.
• The resource is of value to students in the Years F-2, 3-4 and 5-6 bands who have begun their study of Chinese in the early years of schooling. Additional support will be required for the younger learners using the mini-guide as the literacy development of the students in each of the bands will need to be taken into account.
