  • This resource is valuable for both teachers and students for the year 6 Australian Curriculum: Mathematics. It is particularly relevant to the content descriptions about comparing, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals.
  • It is also useful in relation to the year 6 content descriptions that refer to performing, with and without digital technologies, operations with decimals; in particular to multiply and divide by powers of 10; and in using estimation and rounding for the purpose of checking the reasonableness of solutions.
  • The resource may be useful in helping students achieve those elements of the year 6 achievement standards where students make connections between fractions, decimals and percentages, and connect powers of 10 with the multiplication and division of decimals.
