The video is 3 minutes and 50 seconds long and was developed by the Queensland Studies Authority.

Educational value
  • This video is of considerable value to teachers, early years educators and leaders. It provides intentional teaching strategies that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in kindergarten. The strategies include multimodal and multisensory learning in familiar and unfamiliar contexts.
  • The resource is of considerable value in relation to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures cross-curriculum priority. The resource focuses on strategies for engaging with community in culturally sensitive and non-invasive ways.
  • The resource is a valuable professional learning resource for teachers, service leaders and professional development facilitators to help plan and engage with the five learning and development areas in the Queensland kindergarten learning guideline (QKLG). This guideline has been developed for prior-to-school settings.
  • The examples in the video also align with the learning outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
