Students find the coordinates of image points after rotation about the origin and generalise the results. They construct a parallelogram by rotating a triangle by a half-turn and in doing so appreciate that a parallelogram consists of two congruent triangles. The resource also builds students' familiarity with the Cartesian plane.
Working Mathematically: This series addresses all five components of Working Mathematically. In the earlier parts of the series the emphasis is on fluency and understanding. Later parts emphasise reasoning, communicating and problem-solving.
