This seven and a half minute video segment from Catalyst emphasises the importance of collections in science. The Royal Botanic Gardens is the oldest scientific research organisation in Australia. The history of the gardens is outlined up to its current status as the home to almost 9,000 different species of plants. Paul Willis takes a guided tour with the previous Director of the Gardens, Tim Entwistle, to find out how their work continues to make a contribution to our scientific heritage.
