  • This is a useful resource for the years 5, 6, 7 and 8 Design and Technology curriculum. It is relevant for the content descriptions referring to: the use of sustainable resource management practices in food production; the properties and role of food in maintaining good health; and how the production of food and fibre can become more sustainable. The sections of the resource on the difference between conventional and organic farming, the health benefits associated with eating organic food and why conventional farming damages the environment provide relevant information.

It is relevant for the content description referring to the capacity of the world's environments to sustainably feed the projected future population.
