This is a website about Ned Kelly. It explores: his early life, family, the Kelly gang, his armour, his time as a bushranger, the siege at Glenrowan, his capture and the day before he was hung. The resource is presented in three sections: Introductory information; Story Objects; and Story Education Resources. There are 13 Story Objects that include images, videos, links, information, interviews and transcripts. There are four Story Education Resources that link to comprehensive activities, worksheets and resources.

Educational value
  • This is a useful resource for the year 5 History curriculum where students are exploring Australian history in the 19th century. It is relevant for the content descriptions that refer to: the role that a significant individuals played in shaping a colony; the nature of colonial presence; and the impact of significant development or an event had on a colony. A number of Story Objects are relevant here including Imagining Ned Kelly, Interview with Peter Carey and Ned Kelly writes to Sergeant Babington.
  • The resources in the Story Education Resources section of the website are comprehensive and valuable for learning about Ned Kelly. Each resource has an overview and links to a separate website where further important information, activities and resources can be found.
