Educational value
  • This is a highly useful resource for the year 9 and 10 Science curriculum. It is particularly useful for the content descriptions relating to how advances in science and technologies can significantly affect people's lives, including career opportunities. Task 2 and Task 4 of the resource are particularly relevant here as they provide information and learning activities about the range of industries robotics is used in, the occupations robotics influences and how robotics technology is developing and what jobs in the future might be carried out by robots. The five videos embedded in Task 2 are also particularly useful.
  • The resource is also very useful for the year 9 and 10 Science curriculum, particularly the content descriptions referring to how science and technology advances rely on developments linked to each other. The section of the resource titled Task 3: Robots past and future is relevant here, including relevant information abuot how robotics is changing transportation, exploration and remote sensing industries.
  • The resource is also very useful for the year 7 and 8 Science curriculum, particularly the content descriptions referring to ethical considerations that science and technology solutions present. The section of the resource titled Task 4: Robots and Ethics is very useful as it provides information and opportunity for students to consider the ethical use of robotics in a variety of situations.
  • The resource is also relevant to the Ethical Understanding general capability as it provides valuable learning opportunities that relate to reasoning in decision making and actions. The sections of the resource titled Task 4: Robots and Ethics very useful as it provides information and opportunity for students to consider the ethics of robotics in a variety of situations.
  • This is a very valuable source of information for the year 9 and 10 Work Studies curriculum particularly for the sub-strand career development and life design.
