Text Bombs Away: The Tuggeranong Bombing Range

TLF ID M020696

This site provides a collection of primary source documents, guides and information to support research on the local history of Canberra and the Australian Capital Territory. 'Bombs Away' provides a brief history of the establishment of a live bombing range within the Territory in 1940 and local opposition to its creation. The site now forms the Canberra suburbs of Bonython and Isabella Plains. The webpage is supported by scanned copies of maps, letters and photographs from the time that illustrate the history up to the final decommissioning of the site.
