Teacher guide Growing Exotic Fruit - a niche farming enterprise

This unit of work uses the operation of an small agribusiness to explore what it means to be a producer in a small scale business. The unit focuses on the operation of a real-life, exotic fruit farm in northern New South Wales from which fruits are sold to local markets. The units provides five inquiry-based activities that investigate: the role of consumers and producers; entrepreneurship; and business inputs and outputs. The final activity asks students to undertake a simple planing process to start up a hypothetical niche farming business. The unit's activities are supported by background information and online support resources for teachers, detailed tasks for students, and links to videos and websites. This unit is supported by a video of the same name in the collection.
