Video Developing robotic farm machinery

Increasingly, robotic technologies are helping improve agricultural practices. Watch this video about the development of a robot that replaces the need for large scale spray rigs on tractors. What was the problem that farmer Andrew Bate wanted to solve? And what was the research question he posed?  Andrew developed his robot with the Australian Centre for Field Robotics at Sydney University and the Farm Robotics Unit at Queensland's University of Technology. What are the benefits of using robots like Andrew's to deliver herbicides to crops? And why might this kind of technology be even more valuable to coastal farmers, particularly those near the Great Barrier Reef?
