Explore a world of play and imagery, where nothing is as ordinary as it seems. Students respond imaginatively when using a stick as a stimulus to explore elements of drama and create characters. Students will develop their expressive skills through movement and voice. Students also create artworks using a stick as a stimulus.

  • This resource addresses the Creative Arts K-6 Syllabus: VAES1.1: makes simple pictures and other kinds of artworks about things and experiences. VAS1.1: makes artworks in a particular way about experiences of real and imaginary things. DRAES1.1: uses imagination and the elements of drama in imaginative play and dramatic situations. DRAES1.3: dramatises personal experiences using movement, space and objects. DRAS1.1: takes on roles in drama to explore familiar and imagined situations. DRAS1.2: conveys story, depicts events and expresses feelings by using the elements of drama and the expressive skills of movement and voice. This resource addresses the The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia: Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity 1.3: Children develop knowledgeable and confident self-identities.
