In the entertainment industry and any other industry, have faith in yourself. Have the pride of who you are, what you are and why you are, and believe in yourself and believe that the world was made for everybody. And you come from a particular seed like all the other seeds and you go back to the Mother Earth at the end of that growing and living. So don't think that by being different is a hindrance or a setback. It's a matter of attitude, your personal attitude and saying, well I am here, I am a gifted, multi-gifted person. I've just got to find my niche, find where I can put to good use my gift and enjoy it and get on with life, what they want to do.
What I did, anyway, as an entertainer, like all the entertainers, you sing or entertain to the mood of the people. You can change the mood throughout the night by your selection of your program. Now, it's no good of me singing protest songs to an audience. It's like pointing the finger and saying 'I don't like you and I don't care what you think about it'. It's about singing something, or entertaining them, with action, music, dance, that is interesting and educational.
So it's about the entertainer, again, being themselves, and saying I'm having a good time. You can join me or you can [laughs] or you can turn around and go. It's not going to stop me wanting to do or enjoying and sharing my enjoyment with those who want to share it with me.| Credits | Copyright Education Services Australia Ltd |
