Brian Clouston describes the success of 'We are going', 2007

Transcript of the interview

We put her on a nationwide tour, you know. She went to Sydney and Melbourne, did press interviews and things - got hailed by the press, and struck a chord, I think, with the public, because I think the nation was ready to welcome an Indigenous author. Someone wrote and said that they were hymns, you know. And we sold the rights to a New York publisher, yeah, and, oh, it gave her great recognition, I think. Obviously they snapped it up. I think we sold nine editions of it in a few months. It was phenomenal sales, and the most successful Indigenous book we ever published.
