  • miming, drawing, onscreen pointing, clicking or dragging to show understanding of key points in a range of spoken, written and multimodal texts
  • identifying the main idea or an event based on images, for example, la festa, la scuola, lo zoo, la spiaggia, l’estate

  • responding to texts by sequencing pictures and simple text in the order that events occurred
  • recognising that gesture and body language are integral to communicating in language for First Nations Australians, and showing examples of how this is also reflected in Italian, and the language(s) they speak at home
