This sequence of four lesson ideas focuses on the concept that Australia's social wellbeing is enhanced when individuals understand the behaviours and laws associated with being responsible citizens, and report signs of illicit criminal drug activity to the appropriate authorities. This resource provides the opportunity to investigate how Australia’s society and democratic way of life are undermined by illicit drug use. Students explore the laws that protect Australian society from drug crime, how to spot criminal activity, and by what method they can report their suspicions. The resource includes curriculum links, links to external resources, student handouts, a list of ideas for further student enquiry and relevant assessment rubrics. This sequence is part of a series of Civics and Citizenship theme packs from Crime Stoppers Australia.
