Suffragette pioneer Mary Lee, c1895
This is a black-and-white photographic portrait of Mary Lee (1821–1909), taken in about 1895. It shows Lee in her early seventies, around the time of the end of her service as secretary of the Women's Suffrage League in South Australia. She is dressed formally in a high-collared black shirt or dress, and a black hat. Text below the image reads 'THE LATE MRS. MARY LEE.' The photograph measures 20.0 cm x 15.5 cm.
